Job Description

Digital Marketing Strategist
(un)Common Logic  |  Austin, Texas  |  Hybrid/Remote (un)Common Logic is an Austin-based digital marketing performance agency where strategists own real client relationships, shape actual strategy, and work alongside a team that genuinely geeks out on results. We’ve been named a Top Workplace by the Austin American-Statesman for 11 consecutive years — and we’re looking for the kind of person who finds that unsurprising once they’re here.

This is a hands-on, client-facing multi-channel performance role with primary emphasis on PPC and strategic involvement in SEO — including Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), one of the fastest-growing areas in search. If you’re the kind of person who gets excited by data, thinks in systems, and wants to do work that actually moves the needle for clients, we want to talk.

What You’ll Do

Be a Trusted Client Partner

  • Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for a portfolio of 5–10 clients
  • Lead client conversations, set strategic direction, and proactively surface opportunities
  • Own day-to-day communication and maintain positive, proactive relationships
  • Perform deep data analyses to deliver measurable results that exceed expectations

Own PPC Strategy & Execution

  • Manage and optimize PPC campaigns end-to-end — from account structure and keyword strategy through bidding, budget allocation, and ongoing iteration
  • Design and launch ad creative testing plans; optimize landing pages for performance
  • Build forecasts and scenario projections to guide client decisions
  • Ensure accounts remain on budget while balancing efficiency and growth targets

Lead SEO & AEO Initiatives

  • Develop and execute SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategies tied to real client business goals
  • Conduct keyword, intent, and competitive research across content, technical SEO, featured snippets, and AI-driven answer results
  • Perform technical SEO audits and partner with clients and internal teams on implementation — site architecture, crawlability, schema markup, structured data, and more

Who You Are

This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, can juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball, and genuinely enjoys balancing hands-on execution with big-picture thinking. You’re comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, switching contexts quickly, and continuously optimizing based on what the data is telling you.

You also have a sense of humor. That’s non-negotiable.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in paid search and/or SEO
  • Deep experience building and optimizing Google Ads campaigns, including conversion tracking setup and troubleshooting
  • Highly proficient with GA4, GTM, and analytics/tracking tools
  • Strong Excel skills — pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data aggregation, and turning raw data into actionable insights
  • Client management experience; digital agency background strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated persistence and ability to push through obstacles

Compensation & Benefits

We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience, plus a full benefits package including:

  • Unlimited vacation (after two years)
  • Summer Fridays
  • Hybrid, coming into the office 2-3 days a week
  • A team that takes performance seriously and has the awards to prove it
But honestly? The benefits aren’t the main reason people join us. They join because the work is challenging, the team is sharp, and the results speak for themselves.

Our (un)Common Values

  • Do what it takes to deliver excellent results
  • Have the right attitude
  • Do the right thing
  • Communicate directly and honestly
  • Do what you say you will do
  • Always learn and try new things
