Job Summary

We are seeking an Educational Content Editor for a direct hire opportunity in Caguas, PR. This role is ideal for an experienced editorial professional who enjoys improving educational content, maintaining editorial standards, and ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency across published materials.

The Educational Content Editor will help shape editorial policy, review educational resources, validate references and facts, and support the development of high-quality instructional content. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented editor who values collaboration, clear communication, and meaningful work in the printing and publishing industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain editorial policies, style guides, publication guidelines, and content evaluation rubrics.
- Review educational texts to determine publication readiness and approve final content changes.
- Validate references, facts, data, grammar, style, formatting, and overall content presentation.
- Plan content creation in alignment with editorial policies, style guidelines, and publication requirements.
- Conduct internet and reference research to adapt educational resources as needed.
- Support institutional writing, editing, training workshops, meetings, committees, assigned projects, and periodic reporting.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $31,000 to $35,300 per year.
- Job type: Temp To Hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Establish editorial standards, style guides, publication rubrics, and content quality expectations.
- Review, edit, proofread, fact-check, and approve educational content for publication.
- Research, adapt, and improve educational resources to meet publication and instructional needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams, committees, and external resources to support content development and delivery.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in editing, proofreading, educational publishing, content development, or a related editorial role.
- Strong grammar, style, proofreading, and content presentation skills.
- Ability to evaluate texts for publication readiness and ensure editorial consistency.
- Strong research skills, including the ability to verify references, facts, and supporting data.
- Ability to identify content-related issues and suggest practical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple editorial priorities.
- Comfortable preparing reports, participating in meetings, and supporting training activities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience editing educational, instructional, academic, or curriculum-based content.
- Familiarity with publishing workflows, editorial policies, and style guide development.
- Experience working with external contributors, vendors, or content resources.
- Bilingual Spanish and English skills may be helpful for educational publishing environments in Puerto Rico.
- Bachelors degree in Literature.
