Job Announcement Preschool Instructional Assistant Job Description
Assist the teacher in ways determined by the teacher to be useful in improving the quality of the preschool programs, involving clerical duties, supervision of children, transportation, food service, and instructional tasks which, in the judgment of the teacher may be performed by a non-credentialed employee. The work need not be performed in the presence of the teacher, but the teacher retains responsibility for the instruction and supervision. The assistant shall not give out any personal information concerning any pupil to any person other than the teacher or appropriate administrator.
Minimum Qualifications
DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY)
Experience as a participating parent in a State Preschool Class; experience as a leader in children's activities; Paid school experience is desirable but not required.
Completion of the twelfth grade.
Completion of six units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development is required.
Willingness to complete such training courses, in-service, or otherwise, as may
be required after being hired.
Successful completion of the District Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test.

Immunizations required by SB 792; Influenza, Pertussis and Measles
State Mandated Preschool Forms, including a health screening completed by a physician. Completion of six units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development is required within the first year of employment.
